Fuse, the name of that song is "I Burn for You." Sting had written it years ago while he was teaching. I guess he penned it during a lengthly math lesson he assigned for the pupils. It was also featured in the movie Sting was in.."Brimstone & Treacle"..(1982)

Omar is a monster and from
my hometown - Queens, NYC. I
can't say enough about his
talent, yet so little is said
about him. I know that he has
spent a great deal of time
touring for Roland.
There aren't degrees or prizes
given in the subject of Marriage
and Children. Many players have
suffered in this area.
The arts can be tough on family.
It takes real vigilance to keep
a marriage together... an undying
commitment, totally unnatural to
this world.
In or outside of music, the hope
of this world is in the family.
As the family goes, so will every
thing else.

Omar is a great player. I have two (short and very poor quality) videos of him, if anyone's interested. Feel free to download them:

What program do I need for these files? As it is now, I can only hear them, not see them!

Hmm... I think you need some sort of codec to play them properly. They are avi-files so maybe you need a new DivX-cocec? I really am not an expert when it comes to computers so I can't really help. Sorry! Hopefully someone else can.

Bring On The Night is A MUST SEE for everyone for sure. I love how Omar lets his arms "fly" around the kit, he definitely lets his sticks flow using as little effort as possible. Well, that's the impression I get whenever I see him anyway. "Still Warm" by Scofield is for me a all times favorite Fusion CD. There is a beautiful 6/8 in there (picks and pans) that has a wicked snare drum intro. SOOOOO musical and SOOOO fitting within the melody. Not only the intro but that whole tune is top notch. One of those I NEVER get sick of listening to. Well the whole CD is wickedly scary.
Peter C.,
THANK YOU for your most inspiring thoughts on family!! You've nailed it down man! Everything has a cost doesn't it, the question is, should our family pay the price?
I personally prefer to be a better husband/father than a better drummer...

THANX to Pewit!
Peter, u nailed it...
Beat Hit, i 4got to mention Picks & Pans! but you are right, the whole album is a thrill to listen to; puts a smile on my face & chills up the spine... & your last quote, ... somehow, i think if you are a better father &/or husband, you might indeed be a better drummer after all; [but not necessarily the other way around]....

When you are the best husband and
father, you are the best drummer.
I wish this could have been Steve's
reality as a younger man and so does
he but better late than never.
It makes you want to move to Rochester!
Those kids up there are going to be
some lucky puppies because chances
are he's going to wind up teaching up
there. Something to think about.
Some of the things he SAID to me had
left more of a positive impression, as
for the drums, than my lessons with
Tony! I'm not kidding.
Back to Omar, I think to myself what
a KILLER drummer this guy is, if his
home life was as together, could you
imagine what he'd be doing?!
Some people think that you have to be
"imbalanced" in your life, in order
to excel at your craft. This is so
untrue. When things are right at home,
things are right everywhere!
I know some of you are young in it
may sound like I'm some old fart but
think on these things before it's too
late. Even Vinnie is a MUCH different
person today than he was. His focus
is changing and towards life and look
at his gift sing!
